History : 1941 Conference of Yoruba Obas

In 1941, a significant conference of Yoruba Obas took place at Itoro Hall in Ijebu-Ode. This event brought together prominent leaders, including the Oni of Ife and Ginuwa II, the Olu of Itsekiri, among others.

In a notable photograph from this gathering, you can see:

- *Ladapo Samuel Ademola*, Alake of Abeokuta, seated in the front row on the left, distinguished by his light-colored robe and beaded crown.
- *Ginuwa II*, the Olu of Warri (Itsekiri), positioned at the far right, recognizable by his silver crown.

This image, captured by photographer J. M. Cordwell, serves as a valuable historical record of Yoruba leadership and unity during that era.
