With his 35th strike of the league campaign coming against West Ham in a 3-0 win at the Etihad, the City forward surpassed Alan Shearer and Andrew Cole who previously scored 34 goals each in the 1994/95 and 1993/94 seasons respectively.
The Norwegian International forward who only joined Manchester City from Borussia Dortmund last summer achieved this feet in a remarkable 38-game season beating the 28-year old record which was set in a 42-game league season and still has five games left to play before the end of the season to further extend the record.
