Gunmen suspected to be assassins have shot and killed Stephen Aniagu, the chairman of the Ogbete Market Traders Association (OMATA) in Enugu State. The incident occurred around 7 p.m. on Saturday, September 14, 2024, in the Topland area.
Reports indicate that Aniagu was driving home when the assailants flagged down his vehicle and opened fire, resulting in his death. A disturbing video recorded after the attack shows his bullet-riddled body lying in a pool of blood while several residents gathered at the scene.
