Gombe Courts Sentences 10 Fraudsters to Jail for Various Offenses

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has successfully secured the convictions of 10 individuals for a range of fraud-related offenses, including internet fraud, impersonation, and employment scams. The Gombe State High Court handed down various jail sentences to the convicts: Emmanuel Cyriacus, Nelson Yustus, Gabriel Victor Shindu, Daniel Gambo, Miracle Bukar, Mighty Awarri, Jonathan James, Mathias Adams, Sani Safiyanu, and Muazu Shira Mutari.

The charges against the defendants included impersonating foreign nationals and possessing fraudulent documents. All 10 defendants pleaded guilty to the charges, leading to their convictions and sentencing by the court.

In a separate case, the EFCC arraigned four individuals—Solomon Yohanna, Shedrach Naphtali, Hassan Mohammed, and Abdullahi Abubakar—for impersonating EFCC officials and forging documents to defraud unsuspecting Nigerians. Solomon Yohanna pleaded guilty, while the other three defendants maintained their not guilty pleas. The court granted bail to Naphtali, Mohammed, and Abubakar, while Yohanna was remanded in custody.
