Former Edo Governor Adams Oshiomhole Seeks Forgiveness from Chief Gabriel Igbinedion

Adams Oshiomhole, the former governor of Edo State, has publicly requested forgiveness from Chief Gabriel Igbinedion, the Esama of Benin, for any past grievances during his tenure as governor. Senator Oshiomhole, who represents the Edo North senatorial district, made this heartfelt appeal during his goodwill message at Igbinedion's 90th birthday celebration on Saturday, September 14, in Benin, the capital of Edo State.

In his speech, Oshiomhole expressed gratitude for the support he received from Igbinedion during his gubernatorial campaign, acknowledging that he would not have won the election without the elder statesman's backing. His public apology is seen as a significant step toward reconciling their relationship in Edo State's political landscape.

He stated, "I have always looked for an opportunity to say to the Esama of the universe that I am sorry for anything I said or did, knowingly or unknowingly, that a son should never have done to a father. On your 90th birthday, I ask for your forgiveness, and I pray that you grant it. I want to publicly recognize your support for me in 2007 and 2008, without which I might never have become the governor of Edo State
