Former "American Idol" Contestant Benjamin Glaze Arrested for Alleged Possession of Child Pornography

Benjamin Glaze, a former contestant on "American Idol" who gained notoriety after being kissed by Katy Perry during his audition, has been arrested for allegedly possessing child pornography.

The Tulsa Police Department’s Sexual Predator/Digital Evidence Recovery Unit announced in a Facebook post that Glaze was taken into custody following reports of his possession of child sexual abuse material. A search warrant was executed, leading to the discovery of over 700 images and videos depicting minors in sexual abuse scenarios on his smartphone.

Glaze was arrested on Friday afternoon and subsequently booked into the Tulsa County Jail. He has been charged with one count of aggravated possession of child pornography and was released later that evening on a $50,000 bond.

Fans of "American Idol" may recall Glaze from season 16, where he made headlines for revealing to judges Katy Perry, Luke Bryan, and Lionel Richie that he had never kissed a girl before. During his audition, Perry kissed him, which sparked controversy online as Glaze later admitted it made him uncomfortable. He clarified at the time that he did not feel sexually assaulted by Perry
