Students and staff members from Federal University Gusau in Zamfara State have been freed after spending seven months in captivity. They were abducted during a bandit attack in the Gusau area in February 2024.
Security analyst and counter-insurgency expert Zagazola Makama confirmed their release on Monday, September 23, noting that security forces played a crucial role in securing their freedom. "The individuals were kidnapped during a bandit attack in February of this year," Zagazola stated. "After a lengthy period in captivity, it has been confirmed that all the abducted individuals have returned in good health.
