Federal Government Increases Corps Members' Allowance to N77,000 Starting July 2024
The Federal Government has approved a raise in the monthly allowance for corps members from N33,000 to N77,000, effective July 2024.
This announcement was made on the evening of September 25 via a statement on the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) official Facebook page.
The statement noted:
“The Federal Government has approved an increase in Corps Members’ monthly allowance to Seventy-Seven Thousand Naira (N77,000), effective July 2024. This adjustment aligns with the National Minimum Wage (Amendment) Act 2024, as detailed in a letter from the National Salaries, Incomes and Wages Commission, dated September 25, 2024, and signed by Chairman Mr. Ekpo Nta.
Previously, NYSC Director General Brigadier General YD Ahmed had visited the Chairman to advocate for improved welfare for corps members.
The NYSC leadership expressed gratitude to the Federal Government for this timely decision, believing it will provide necessary support to corps members and enhance their motivation to serve the nation effectively
