Emefiele challenges his detention by the DSS, claims there is no justification for arrest.

Emefiele opposes his detention by the DSS and argues that there is no valid reason for his arrest.

In his argument, Emefiele's lawyer Joseph Daudu asserted that the court has the authority to handle the matter despite objections from the opposing party.

Daudu further stated that the listed offenses against Emefiele are under the jurisdiction of the FCT High Court. On the other hand, the attorney-general's counsel, Tijjani Ghazali, informed the court that the first respondent is disputing the court's jurisdiction in hearing the applicant's case. Despite the arguments presented, the DSS maintains that the detention of the suspended CBN governor is legal.
