The Uyo Zonal Directorate of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has apprehended 48 individuals suspected of internet fraud in Umudike, Abia State. The arrests took place on Friday, August 30, 2024, at various locations based on credible intelligence regarding their alleged fraudulent activities.
According to a statement from the commission, the operation resulted in the recovery of 12 exotic cars, 15 laptops of various brands, and 68 high-end smartphones. The EFCC has announced that the suspects will be charged in court once the investigations are completed.
