While most schools across Nigeria are scheduled to reopen on Monday, September 9, a statement from the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Education, Ojo Akin-Longe, indicated that the resumption of all public and private schools has been delayed "until further notice." The statement noted, "An official directive from the government has mandated that schools remain closed due to the unrest caused by the recent fuel price hikes and the challenges impacting parents and guardians."
