A new mini-moon, designated asteroid 2024 PT5, has been captured by Earth's gravity and will orbit our planet until November 25. This small asteroid, measuring approximately 33 feet (10 meters) in diameter, originates from the Arjuna asteroid belt and follows a solar orbit similar to that of Earth.
Although its stay is temporary, this event provides a unique chance for scientists to examine the behavior of near-Earth objects. Due to its size and dimness, it will not be visible to amateur astronomers, but professional telescopes are tracking its brief passage around our planet.
