CAF Delists Nigeria vs. Libya Qualifier After Super Eagles' Airport Ordeal

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has officially removed the second-leg fixture of the 2025 African Cup of Nations qualifier between Nigeria and Libya from its schedule.

Originally set for Tuesday, October 15, in Libya, the match was to follow the first leg held at Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo, where the Super Eagles secured a 1-0 victory against the Mediterranean Knights.

However, the return leg was rendered impossible after Super Eagles players and officials faced a 14-hour delay upon their arrival in Libya. Following this airport ordeal, the Super Eagles opted to boycott the match and returned home instead.

CAF has announced that it is conducting an investigation into the incident.
