Apple Updates Product Classification, Moves Several Mac Models to Vintage and Obsolete Categories

Apple has revised its product classification list, designating certain Mac models as vintage while classifying nine older models as obsolete.

The newly vintage devices include the 2018 Retina MacBook Air and select MacBook Pro models from 2017 and 2018, which can still be serviced by Apple Authorized Service Providers as long as parts are available.

In contrast, the obsolete models will no longer receive support for repairs from Apple, except for battery replacements in certain cases.

This update is significant for users who still own these once-premium devices, highlighting how quickly even high-end products can transition from being cutting-edge to unsupported.
