American Boxer Mylik Birdsong Fatally Shot in Drive-By Incident


Mylik Birdsong, a professional boxer from the U.S., was killed in a drive-by shooting in the Gramercy Park area of South Los Angeles.

The incident took place around 4:50 p.m. on Sunday in the 1600 block of West 87th Street, near Denker Avenue, as reported by the Los Angeles Police Department.

Police stated that Birdsong was outside a home when two suspects arrived in a vehicle and opened fire. The assailants then exited the vehicle and pursued him, continuing to shoot until he was mortally wounded.

Paramedics transported him to a hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries. There is currently no description available for the suspects or their vehicle.

The motive behind the shooting remains unclear.

While authorities have not released his identity, TMZ identified the victim as the 31-year-old boxer, who was set to fight on October 26.

Birdsong had a professional boxing record of 15 wins, 1 loss, and 1 draw, with 10 of those wins coming by knockout.
