AFCON QUALIFIERS: NIGERIA VS GUINEA BISSAU.

The Super Eagles of Nigeria would return to action on Friday, 24th March, 2023 as they take on Guinea Bissau in what would be their third group stage qualifying encounter at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium, Abuja by 5pm local time. Italian Serie A’s top goalscorer Victor Osimhen, Villarreal’s Samuel Chukwueze, Atalanta’s Ademola Lookman, Leicester City pair Kelechi Iheanacho and Wilfred Ndidi along with Everton’s Alex Iwobi are just a few exciting stars who would participate in the game and have already reported for training duties ahead of the clash.

On the back of two consecutive victories in the group, the African giants go in search of their third win in as many games as they hope to beat a side they last faced in the Group stage of last year’s AFCON tournament as goals from Sadiq Umar and William Troost-Ekong saw off a comfortable victory for the Eagles.

The famous ‘Green and White’ Eagles are certainly one of the big entertainers in this qualifying rounds being huge favorites to qualify from the group. They are definitely performing equivalent to the task as they recorded a 10-0 victory away from home against Sao Tome and Principe in their last qualifying match with in-form star Victor Osimhen scoring 4 times in the match.

Guinea Bissau are certainly no push-overs as they are currently undefeated in their qualifiers, recording a 5-1 win over Sao Tome and Principe before surrendering a two-goal second half lead to draw 2-2 at Sierra Leone thanks to a red card to defender Sana Gomes who is suspended for the clash with Nigeria.

The two sides meet again for the return leg in Bissau at the Estadio 24 de Setembro, on the 27th of March, 2023.
