AFCON 2023: Morocco secures early qualification.

Morocco have ensured their qualification to what would be the 34th edition of the Africa Cup of Nations tournament following their victories against Liberia and South Africa in 2022.

A 2-1 come-back victory over South Africa on the 9th of June 2022 followed by a 0-2 win against Liberia on the 13th of June 2022 were enough to ensure Morocco’s qualification from Group K to the tournament as CAF announced on the 23rd of May, 2022 that Zimbabwe were disqualified from the qualifiers due to the suspension of the Zimbabwe Football Association by FIFA.

The Atlas Lions would be making their nineteenth appearance at the tournament in its history and are the first nation to qualify through the qualification series following Ivory Coast automatic qualification as the host nation.
