Adams Oshiomhole Declares Gov. Obaseki "Politically Dead" After Election Results

Former Edo State Governor Adams Oshiomhole has stated that current Governor Godwin Obaseki is "politically dead" following the results of the recent governorship election in the state.

Oshiomhole made this comment during an interview on Channels TV's Politics Today, where he discussed the election outcome. On Sunday, September 22, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared Monday Okpebholo of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as the winner.

He noted that the results reflected the will of the people of Edo State. When asked about the controversy surrounding the APC candidate's victory, Oshiomhole dismissed the concerns, asserting that the election outcome clearly represented the people's choice and suggesting that Obaseki's political influence has waned significantly.

He remarked, "The acting chairman of the PDP spoke about defending votes with his blood, but Edo people will not sacrifice their lives for anyone. We align with President Jonathan's view that even a presidential election is not worth the blood of any Nigerian. Meanwhile, you have the PDP national chairman talking about bloodshed for an election, and Obaseki insisting it was do-or-die."

He added, "Now that the people have made their choice, I believe he is politically dead. The electorate has chosen Monday, who was elected as a senator last year, and has now been declared the governor-elect. They see that a man can speak eloquently but fail to build classrooms while children sit on the floor. What value is there in that?
