The Governor of Lagos State Babajide Sanwo-Olu has insisted that nurses in Nigeria adapt and harness the power of technology to Improve nursing education curriculum and professional examinations, stressing that this will ultimately improve the quality of patient care in healthcare facilities across the country.
Sanwo-Olu, who gave this advice yesterday at the opening ceremony of the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN) biennial workshop for examiners in Lagos, said nurses can create a more dynamic, engaging, and effective evaluation process that aligns with modern healthcare demands if the right technological tools are leveraged.
The governor, who was represented by Dr. Olusegun Ogboye, the permanent secretary of the Lagos State Ministry of Health, explained that the shared goal of health workers is to identify practical solutions that will raise the standard of healthcare for Nigerians, adding that harnessing technology will help provide solutions to nursing education and practice in various institutions and health facilities.
